OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Two Oak Ridge teens were arrested early police after police learn about a stolen handgun, which was taken from a vehicle in Knoxville. Following up on that information, investigators identified several suspects they believed were involved in the break in, as well several car and home burglaries in the Briarcliff neighborhood of Oak Ridge.
Police kept an eye on the suspects and followed up on their investigation until about 4:00 a.m. when they detained five people at the Terra Hills Apartment Complex. A search of the apartment turned up a substantial amount of stolen property, Oak Ridge Police said.
Chase Davis and Bryson Higgins were arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary and possession of stolen property. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.
The Oak Ridge Police Dept. said it recovered items that ranged from sporting goods to electronics to women's accessories. Police are encouraging anyone who has been a victim of a rencent burglary in Oak Ridge to contact them at 865-425-3511 to make arrangements to identify items that may belong to them.
