HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Two Hawkins County men have been arrested for drug
offenses while visiting Surgoinsville Market.
Kenneth Lee Miller, Jr., 44, was charged with possession Oxycodone. Brandon Michael Whitaker, 29, was charged with possession of Suboxone.
Deputies spotted a truck Miller and Whitaker were in at the market this past Saturday. Officers noticed the truck's registration was expired and talked to Miller.
Miller eventually showed them two prescription bottles with Oxycodone and Morphine inside.
The bottles were filled about five hours before they spoke with deputies and that almost all of the Oxycodone was missing and a few of the Morphine was not there.
Whitaker then showed 9 ½ suboxone strips from his wallet, which he was unable to show a valid prescription.
Both were taken to jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
