KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The man wanted for breaking into a Union Co. home and attacking the homeowner has been captured. A Union Co. Sheriff's detective along with a U.S. Marshall tracked Matthew Blackburn to east Knoxville and arrested him shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Friday, the Sheriff's Office said.
Blackburn, who had been considered armed and dangerous, faces charges of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Burglary, and Vandalism, stemming from the May 8th incident at a home on Grizzell Farm Lane.
Deputies said he stole a red 1994 Dodge pickup truck and a 12 gauge shotgun.
The detective and Marshall were targeting a section of east Knoxville when they spotted a red Dodge truck. As they were checking to see if it was the stolen one, they spotted Blackburn walking towards it.
He was arrested without incident and will be transported to Union Co. Jail for booking, the sheriff's office said.
