KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A 53 year-old man told Knoxville Police investigators that a homeless man stabbed him in the elbow with a pocket knife during an argument early Tuesday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.
Officers were called to the intersection of Bridge Ave. and 13th Street shortly before 1:30 a.m. where they found Earl Smith, Jr. Police said Smith them he was arguing with another homeless man near the Valarium when the man pulled out the knife and stabbed him in his right elbow. Smith would not say what the the argument was about.
He was taken to UT Medical Center where he was treated for a small puncture wound.
Police searched the area where the attack occurred, but did not find the suspect. Smith also told them he did not want to prosecute the man.
