KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A violent sex offender who was out on bond following an arrest for violating the sex offender registry is back behind bars after a six-month investigation, according to the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office. It's his third arrest since June.
Raymond Lee Shaffer, 47, has now been charged with two more sex offender registry violations. He is being held on $11,000 bond at the Knox Co. Detention Facility.
Officials said he was arrested in June on two counts of violating the sex offender registry. In August, the Campbell Co. Sheriff's Office picked him up on the same count.
He was reportedly found Wednesday at a hotel in a restricted area, the Sheriff's Office said.
In 2008, he pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree involving a minor in Berkley, West Virginia.
