Crimetracker: Police say man abandoned house, left dog inside to die

BEAN STATION, Tenn. (WVLT)--Hawkins County authorities say a Bean Station man moved out of a house and left a dog inside it to die.

Deputies got a call on Feb. 24 from someone saying they discovered a dead dog in a house in Mooresburg recently sold at public auction.

Deputy Jeremy Nash told police he had contact with Harville in 2012 and knew he lived at the address of the house at the time.

The buyer of the house said it had been abandoned for more than three months.

The Hawkins County Sheriff's Office charged 48-year-old William Charles Harville with cruelty to animals.
