Delayed justice for robbery victim after spotting suspect at red light

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Nearly a week after she was held up at gunpoint, a robbery victim spots the suspect while sitting at a stop light on Washington Pike, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

After she called police, Jeffery McCarley, 32, was pulled over in a Walgreen's pharmacy parking lot and arrested. He was charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery and is being held on $25,000 bond.

McCarley is accused of approaching the woman while she was loading groceries into her vehicle in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on Kinzel Way shortly after 1:00 a.m. on September 29. He allegedly pulled up his shirt to reveal a gun and the woman handed him a $20 bill.

Six days later, she was sitting at a red light on Washington Pike when she said she saw the suspect also waiting at the red light. She followed him to a pain clinic on Mineral Springs Road while calling 911.
