Crimetracker: Deputies find meth lab near church parking lot

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Blount County Sheriff's Office says they found a meth lab in a church parking lot.

It happened just before 1:00 Saturday afternoon at Maryville Baptist Tabernacle Church on Mt. Tabor Road.

A passerby saw a purse that looked suspicious near the edge of the parking lot and called for help.

The Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force also responded to the scene and found a “one pot” method meth lab, also known as the "shake and bake" method, inside.

Evidence shows the meth was cooked recently, no arrests have been made.
