HARTSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A sheriff's deputy and a family disturbance suspect have been shot and wounded in Trousdale County.
Sheriff Ray Russell told WTVF-TV that Sgt. Harold Cooley and other deputies responded to a domestic call early Monday. Russell said shots were exchanged and both Cooley and a suspect were wounded.
The men were taken to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville with critical injuries. The deputy was shot in the face.
The name of the suspect wasn't immediately released.
