Ex-jail official in Centerville accused of rape

CENTERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested the former administrator of the Hickman County Jail on a rape charge.

The TBI said in a news release Wednesday from Nashville that 68-year-old Quinton Jerry Wasden was indicted last week by a county grand jury.

Agents said Wasden had sexual relations with a female inmate in exchange for extra freedoms at the jail. He had resigned from the post in April.

Wasden was released on $25,000 bond.
