KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville's own 'party mom' now has a new title: wanted fugitive.

The FBI says Leslie Janous is on the run. And you'll see her face, from the road.

"Leslie Janous is a fugitive from justice. We are asking for the public's assistance in helping us to find her," said Special Agent in Charge Richard Lambert.

Prosecutors planned to seize the money and belongings that marked Janous' lavish lifestyle. She was already facing up to 30 years in prison.

But now she's missing.

"Her wanted poster is being shown on billboards throughout Tennessee and also Georgia," said Lambert.

He said Janous didn't return home Tuesday, violating her pre-sentencing release. "The court allowed her to remain free, provided she complied with certain conditions, one of which was to remain in the area," he said. "Because she did not comply with those guidelines, an arrest warrant has been issued for her."

Janous, 36, was best known for her expensive lifestyle, and her daughter's 'Sweet 15' party.

She was convicted of two counts of wire fraud and a single count of money laundering in February, after she pled guilty to stealing $4 million from her boss.

She was set to be sentenced July 18. But first the FBI must find her.

"We have a number of leads that we are following up on right now," said Lambert. "We take each lead that's presented to us and we run that to ground."

Janous is described as a white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds.

If you have any information you're asked to call the Knoxville Division of the FBI at 865-544-0751.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., (WVLT) -- The FBI is searching for Leslie Janous, who first gained notoriety for the lavish "Sweet 15" party and was later convicted of stealing millions from her boss.

In February, Janous was convicted of two counts of wire fraud and a single count of money laundering. She was set to be sentenced in July.

The FBI has launched an electronic billboard campaign throughout Tennessee and Georgia to find Janous, who is described as 5'6", weighing about 200 lbs.

During the trial, prosecutors said the 36 year-old Janous worked as a bookkeeper for Scancarbon, Inc. for several years, a position which gave her access to the company's bank accounts.

She was accused of embezzling more than four million dollars to lavish her family with exotic trips and wild shopping sprees. Prosecutors planned to seize most of Janous' property, including three houses, two luxury cars, two watercraft vehicles, and designer jewelry and clothing, all paid for with embezzled funds.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Knoxville Division of the FBI at 865-544-0751.
