JACKSBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Campbell County Grand Jury has indicted a LaFollette Middle School history teacher on several charges in a TBI case that started in November 2013.

Lonnie Vann, 43, was turned himself in Monday around 10:22 a.m. for Solicitation of a Minor, Tampering with Evidence, and Assault.

Investigators say Vann allegedly took a 13-year-old student off school property to a church. They say he hugged her and tried to kiss her, both without consent.

Investigators also learned Vann tampered with evidence by altering images on a recording device at the church.

Vann was released from jail around 11:03 a.m. after posting $10,000 bond.
