GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested and charged a Greeneville man for assaulting an impaired man he was supposed to be looking after.
Seth Soltau, 23, faces one count of Aggravated Assault and one count of Abuse, Neglect, or Exploitation of an Impaired Adult.
Soltau worked as a support staff caregiver at Sunrise Community Services and has since been fired.
The TBI says on several occasions September 3-4, 2013, Soltau slapped a 26-year-old man on the back and face area numerous times while at the facility.
The investigation further revealed Soltau put his forearm on the victim’s throat area and choked the victim to the point his air was being restricted.
Employees at the Greeneville facility notified the administration of Sunrise Community Services, who in turn contacted Adult Protective Services. The TBI investigated, along with APS and the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
