Former judge Richard Baumgartner now in federal prison

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) Former Knox Co. Judge Richard Baumgartner has reported to federal prison in West Virginia.

According to the Federal Bureau of Prison's website, Baumgartner is being housed in Gilmer prison, a medium security facility in Glenville.

He will serve six months with no chance of parole for lying to cover up a scheme that provided him with painkillers and sex.

Baumgartner will have one year of supervised release and a judge ordered him to seek mental health treatment.
