KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- In one breath Sam Glass goes from accused killer to self-confessed gunman. "This was never meant for nobody. This was a total accident," Glass told the jury.
But it did happen. A shooting that he says was only meant to scare Antonio Miller. Instead, it killed 17-year-old DaChanna Dotson. Coincidentally, Dachanna's father was also killed with a bullet meant for someone else 15-years earlier.
"And her death just brought all that back home to me. And I never got closure in his case. His case is still unsolved," said Sherryl Minor, DaChanna's paternal grandmother.
The family says the admission by Glass is no surprise to them. "I knew that all along. Everybody knew it all along," said maternal grandmother Arnette Dotson.
Dotson says the admission brings some closure, but the hurt, the pain, the memory of DaChanna lying in a pool of blood will never leave. "I see her laying there helpless every second of the day." she said.
"I just hope he's punished and he won't be able to do this to anybody else's child," said Minor.
