KINGSTON, Tenn. (AP) -- East Tennessee authorities have criminally charged the parents of a toddler who drowned in a bathtub.
Jami-Dean Wesley Gregory and Crystal C. Gregory of Harriman face criminally negligent homicide charges, reports The Knoxville News Sentinel. The mother is 26 years old, the father 27. They were arrested Monday.
Assistant Roane County prosecutor Bill Reedy says 14-month-old Jackson Gregory had been left in the tub with a slightly older sibling at the family's home in November and drowned.
A grand jury returned indictments against the couple Feb. 22. Reedy says the other child has been placed in custody elsewhere.
Arraignment is set for March 8 in Kingston.
