KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)--The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a Hawkins County Sheriff’s Deputy in connection with stolen evidence. The District Attorney General asked the TBI to look into evidence that was discovered missing from the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office evidence room in March.
Agents arrested 42-year-old Brad Depew of Church Hill and charged him with one count of burglary, one count of theft and one count of tampering with evidence.
TBI with assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, also executed a search warrant at his home this afternoon to look for missing narcotics and other evidence from the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office. Depew was a night shift patrol deputy at the department.
Depew was booked into the Hawkins County Jail.
