JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- A Huntingdon High School teacher has been charged with statutory rape, the second teacher in West Tennessee to receive such a charge this month.

Huntingdon Special School District Superintendent Pat Dillahunty said 23-year-old Daniel Clark Doyle was arrested Friday and has been suspended without pay pending an investigation of allegations of misconduct, according to The Jackson Sun.

Dillahunty said she couldn't provide details. Doyle was released Friday on $5,000 bond.

According to the school's website, Doyle started work at Huntingdon in August as a Spanish teacher and assistant boys' basketball coach.

Earlier this month, Amy Lynn Howell, an English teacher at Chester County High School, was charged with statutory rape by an authority figure and sexual battery by an authority figure.
