Judge increases charge, sends case to grand jury

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- A judge in Chattanooga has sent an increased charge against a man accused of killing a teenager during a street fight to a grand jury.

Latha Corbin had been charged with criminal homicide in the Sept. 12 shooting death of 19-year-old Aundre Bush. After Hamilton County General Sessions Judge Clarence Shattuck viewed cell phone video of the act, he increased the charge to first-degree murder, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

The shooting occurred during a fight among a group of teenage girls.

Chattanooga Police said Bush died of bullet wounds to the back of his head his chest.

Police said Corbin, who is 30, turned himself in the next day.
