JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- A judge in Washington County blasted a police interrogation and threw out a confession by a teenager accused in his mother's strangulation killing.

Criminal Court Judge Robert Cupp watched Johnson City Police video of then- 17-year-old Codey Wayne Miller being questioned and said it was like two 10-year-olds arguing over a toy, according to the Johnson City Press (http://bit.ly/sMq4a4).

Miller -- who is now 19 -- is charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the May 2009 killing of his mother, 36-year-old Sherry Cooper. Cooper's body was found in a trash can outside the apartment she and her son shared.

Cupp suppressed the statement, calling it "mind boggling" and said there was no way to know from it what Miller's involvement was.
