KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- After deliberating all day Friday, a jury has convicted Samuel Glass of First Degree Murder for the shooting death of 17 year-old Dachanna Dotson last summer.
The jury also convicted Glass of Felony Murder, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Attempted 1st Degree Murder while Employing a Firearm, and Driving on a Revoked License.
A judge immediately sentenced Glass to 51 years on murder convictions. Sentencing for other charges is set for June 8.
In a dramatic scene Thursday, Glass demonstrated for the jury how he fired the fatal shots that killed Dotson. He claimed the shooting was accidental and he only meant to scare a man with whom he fought earlier.
Akeen DuBose, who was also charged in relation with the shooting already, had already pleaded in the case and is expected to get 25 years in prison.
