KPD: Man stabbed while trying to stop someone from driving drunk

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An argument over drinking and driving lands one man in jail and another in the hospital after he was stabbed early Tuesday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.

Authorities said the two men, Joseph Boehl and Robbie Snider, had been drinking at the Boehl's home on Mingle Ave. Snider tried to leave and the two men started arguing on Boehl's porch when he tried stopping Snider from driving drunk.

Snider allegedly pulled a knife, prompting Boehl to call police shortly before three o'clock. Before officers could arrive, Boehl called back saying he had been stabbed.

As he approached the home, an officer spotted Snider taking off in a silver Nissan 4-door and pulled him over on Western and Texas. Snider was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, DUI, Driving on Suspended License, and Felony Fleeing.

Boehl, who was stabbed in the left leg, was taken UT Medical Center.
