KPD: Man stabbed while trying to break up argument

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. is searching for the woman who stabbed a man in the back when he tried to break up an argument between the suspect and another woman Sunday evening.

The victim, Rigoberto Rivera, told authorities that the two women were arguing when one of them, Alestas Velissasios, became violent and pulled a knife. That's when Rivera says he tried stepping in and was cut in the back.

Velissasios fled the scene, according to police, and Rivera was taken to UT Medical Center.

Aggravated Arrest warrants were signed against Vellissasios.
