Kids arrested for throwing rock, axe at truck from viaduct

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Two boys, ages 11 and 12, were arrested Tuesday for throwing a rock and an axe off of the Wynn Avenue viaduct over James White Parkway at a truck passing below.

According to Knoxville police, the victim said he was heading north on the JWP when he saw two boys standing on the viaduct when one of them suddenly dropped a rock onto the truck, cracking its windshield. He said the other boy then threw an axe, but it missed the vehicle.

A Knoxville Police officer later saw two boys walking towards an apartment complex on Sevier Ave. The boys reportedly confessed to throwing the rock and the axe, adding they found the axe in nearby woods.

They were both charged with Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism, and Truancy.
