KNOX CO., Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox Co. Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 9100 block of Brownlow Newman Lane around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night.
According to the sheriff's office, 53 year-old Max Thompson called 911, claiming he had been shot. When deputies arrived, they found him outside.
Thompson was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.
Detectives have searched the scene, but have not found a weapon.
