KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A former Knox Co. probation officer was arrested Thursday morning following a five-month investigation, according to Tennessee Bureau of Investigations spokesperson Kristin Helm.
Helm said Alex Ragland, 44, is charged with one count each of bribery and official misconduct. He posted $5,000 bond.
The 6th Judicial Dist. Attorney General requested the agency open an investigation, which it did in May of this year, she explained. Ragland was accused of giving favorable treatment to offenders in his charge in exchange for bribes.
