KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police are on the lookout for the person they believe tried to break into a store on Sutherland Ave. early Thursday morning.
Shortly after five o'clock, officers were called to the B.J.'s Food Mart in the 2700 block of Sutherland Ave. There, they found a pieces of a landscaping brick on the sidewalk in front of the store's entrance and several deep scratches on the door.
Security footage showed the suspect approached the stores door and knocked on the windows, according to police. When no one responded, authorities said he put on some gloves and grabbed a landscaping stone from a black backpack.
The suspect tried to break the window out of the door with the stone, but failed and fled on foot.
They described him as a white man, wearing a black jacket, a blue and white ball cap, camouflage cargo pants, and black and white tennis shoes.
