LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Lenoir city man has been charged with killing his son.
Loudon County 911 received a call Sunday evening from Larry Hensley, 58, regarding a shooting. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities found Steven Hensley, 36, lying on the ground, shot in the leg and groin area.
Deputies say Larry Hensley admitted to shooting his son after getting into an argument. He said his son pushed him to the ground. He tried to warn his son he was armed.
When Steven came at him again, Larry Hensley told deputies he shot him in the leg, hitting a major artery. Steven Hensley died later at UT hospital.
Larry Hensley is being held in Loudon County Jail and faces charges of Voluntary Manslaughter. Bail has been set at $100,000.
