KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - An arrest has been made in the homicide of a Knoxville woman and her unborn child.
The Knoxville Police Department has arrested and charged Norman Clark with first degree murder of Brittany Eldridge and her unborn child.
Clark is being held under a one million dollar bond.
Neighbors of the Clark family say they can't believe something like this has happened to close to home.
"I was in shock. Not from that family, no," Greg Drinnen said.
Drinnen has lived across the street from the Clarks for several years, and explained they are some of the nicest neighbors he's ever had.
"(They would) do anything for you, always there for you. A great family," he explained.
Other neighbors say they were just as shocked that it came so close to home.
"Most that happens is we have kids run up and down the street on bikes. Baseball, football, that kind of stuff. That's about it," Nathaniel Crow said.
This case began on December 13, 2011 when the Knoxville Police Department received a call from 5000 Western Ave. reporting that Eldridge’s home was in disarray.
Officers discovered Eldridge and her unborn child deceased.
Officers say Clark was their prime suspect from the start.
