KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A man is looking at charges for having a gun while intoxicated Sunday night.
A Tennessee State Trooper pulled over Benjamin Dickerson's SUV close to 10 p.m. Sunday night for having expired tags.
The Trooper says after pulling over the SUV, Dickerson was a passenger and noticeably intoxicated with a twelve pack of beer between his legs.
While the Trooper was giving a field sobriety test to the driver, he says Dickerson got out of the car and was placed under arrest.
Dickerson next told the Trooper he had a loaded handgun in SUV close to where he was sitting, and was then charged with possessing a handgun while intoxicated.
