FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) -- A Franklin man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the death of his brother and injuries he inflicted on his mother.
Jesse Knapp, now 25, fatally stabbed his younger brother, Joshua, during an argument two years ago. He attacked his mother, Dian Bridges, when she attempted to intervene, according to The Tennessean.
Knapp was indicted on first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder charges, but prosecutors agreed to lesser counts of second-degree murder and attempted involuntary manslaughter.
A judge approved the terms on Tuesday and handed down sentences of 18 years and four years, respectively.
