Memphis woman gets probation for home alone deaths

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A woman whose two young sons died in a Memphis house fire after she left them alone has been placed on probation for 14 years.

Twenty-three-year-old Melodia Dunn entered best interest pleas Tuesday and also was ordered to undergo mental health treatment, according to The Associated Press.

Three-year-old Ladereon and 2-year-old Cetereon died in the October 2009 fire at the home where she left them to go shopping.

The paper said attorneys on both sides were prepared Tuesday to testify about her competency to stand trial.
