KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- On the surface Brooke Morris had the perfect life, which included a loving husband, and a beautiful baby boy.

Recently, though, her life began to fall apart. Morris split from her husband. Yet she pressed on, trying to pick up the pieces.

She took a waitress job at Hooters on Merchants Drive. Suddenly last month, Morris quit.

Saturday Morris was found shot to death. Her body was left on a deserted Roane County road. Morris' former co-workers are devastated.

"Shocked that something could happen to someone you know, someone you cared about," said Will Barnes.

Barnes was Morris' manager at Hooters. He spent the day consoling her friends just hearing about her death.

"She was an excellent employee, never had a problem, never had any issues whatsoever, always punctual, always performing, and great."

So far cops haven't announced a suspect. But one thing is clear, "she'll be missed," said Barnes.
