North Knox County tobacco store robbed at gunpoint

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knox County Sheriff's deputies need your help tracking down the person who robbed a North Knox County tobacco store at gunpoint.

Officers say a man came in to the Discount Tobacco store in the 5900 block of Tazewell Pike just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.

They say he had a hoodie over his head, a white bandana around his face, and pointed a pistol demanding money.

The store owner and his wife were the only ones in the business and gave him an unknown amount of money out of the cash register.

The suspect made them lay down on the floor as he fled.

They say they heard a vehicle leaving, but had no other details. No one was injured.

A detective with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office said the suspect is between 6 feet and 6’2”, and around 280 pounds. The man was wearing a green hoodie, camo shorts, and black tennis shoes.
