Oak Ridge Woman Helps put Suspect Behind Bars

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.(WVLT)--Tuesday, November 22nd is a day Rhonda Gore won't forget, nor will her entire neighborhood.
Rhonda said, "That morning, I was getting ready to go to work, I actually just happened to look out the kitchen window and saw a man
trying to get in my neighbor's car.
"Then, he was trying to get into my car, both of our car doors were locked, so I called the police immediately, then I started
calling all of my neighbors to let them know what was going on."

Rhonda's quick thinking, calm demeanor and the right information helped Oak Ridge Police nab 31 year old Darren Larsen of Oak Ridge.

So, If you saw a crime happening would you know what to do? Would you be able to do it quickly?

Rhonda said it's all about description. "You may be in a state where you're a little panicked maybe, but remember everything that you can, and definitely direction of travel."

Rhonda credits her long time involvement with her neighborhood watch with teaching her what to look out for.
"The way crime is today, the only way an older town can survive is just to be involved, police can't be everywhere at one time, we have to look out for each other."
