NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An Oak Ridge man wanted in connection with a homicide and robbery in early August has been added to the state's top fugitive list and is offering a $1,000 reward for information for anyone who contacts the authorities with information leading to whereabouts and arrest, the TBI announced on Friday.
Brandon Javon Brooms, whose last known address was 116 Van Hicks Place, Oak Ridge, is wanted by the Oak Ridge Police Dept. on charges of Homicide and Especially Aggravated Robbery.
The 21 year-old was allegedly engaged in a drug transaction at the home of the victim, Antonio Phillips, when witnesses claim they heard the sounds of a gun being cocked and the two men fighting.
Phillips was shot in the upper left leg and crawled to the living room where he later died.
Brooms is also accused of stealing an unknown amount of marijuana.
Brooms is described as a black male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 5’5,” weighs 139 lbs. He has a tattoo on his left arm and left wrist. He has a prior history of domestic assault, drugs, theft and burglary.
