Steven Todd Cline, 39, of Sevierville, Tenn. was indicted on two counts of assault stemming from an off duty incident that occurred on the evening of September 4, 2010 outside a Gatlinburg bar, according to the TBI.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A police officer has been arrested on two counts of assault after allegedly hitting another man and pushing a woman to the ground while off-duty, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced.
Steven Todd Cline is currently on leave from the Gatlinburg Police Dept., the TBI added. He was booked into Sevier Co. Jail on Wednesday and set to appear in the Circuit Court of Sevier Co. He was released on $2500 bond.
Investigators accuse the 39 year-old Sevierville man of assaulting the two victims outside a Gatlinburg bar in September of last year.
The TBI said it took over the case at the request of the District Attorney General, who recused himself from the case, and a special prosecutor fromt eh 3rd Judicial District Attorney General's Office was brought in.
