DECATUR, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities are asking people for their help solving a year-old murder of a Decatur man found dead on his land along Five Points Road, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said.
On September 23, 2010, Roger Dale Self's body was discovered by friends and family in the barn where he stored his hay and straw. He was last seen the night before.
Authorities believe he was shot several times by a .22 caliber pistol around 6:30 p.m. on September 22, 2010. Investigators think Self probably knew, or was at least acquainted with, his killer.
The TBI and Decatur Police are still actively investigating his death. Anyone with information regarding Roger Self’s murder is urged to contact the Decatur Police Department at 423-334-5716 or the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463).
