KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police arrested one man after he robbed a person outside an Arby's early Saturday morning, according tot he Knoxville Police Dept.
The victim told police he was sitting in the parking lot of the restaurant, 2819 Chapman Highway, using its Wi-Fi when a car pulled up behind him. He said a man got out and asked him if the Arby's was closed. The man, who police identified as Steven F. Gray, started to walk away, but turned around and asked for directions to McDonald's.
At that time, police said, Gray pulled a gun and demanded money. When the victim said he only had $17.00 on him, Gray ordered him out of the car and took the money, a check card, and a laptop. Gray then told the victim to get back into the car so they could go to an ATM and the victim took off running.
When Gray got back into his car and started to leave, the victim returned to his car and began following him. He called 911 and officers caught up with Gray when he was leaving the Oak Crest Apartments.
Officers arrested Gray after a short foot chase and found a black pellet gun in his car.
Gray was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Evading Arrest and is being held on $12,500 bond.
