KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man is behind bars after officers with the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office reportedly discovered over 200 marijuana plants in his home last Friday. Jeremy Welker, 39, was captured as the result of a month-long investigation, the Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities said the officers found 229 plants in different stages of growth spread out across three rooms of the home on Idlewild Lane, along with grow lights, fans, and other equipment.
Welker was charged with 2 counts of manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. He is being held on $16,500 bond and is scheduled in court for a preliminary hearing on June 17th.
