SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The deaths of two people in Sevierville over the weekend were the result of a murder-suicide, Sevier Co. Sheriff Ron Seals said on Monday. The bodies of Shannon F. Whaley, 52, and William B. Davis, 51, were found Saturday morning in the 1800 block of New Era Road.
Whaley's husband found her body around 8:30 a.m. Davis' husband was discovered in a camper on their property, in which he lived. Investigators believe Davis took his own life after killing Whaley and said they found evidence inside the camper that confirmed that.
The Sheriff's Dept. said Whaley and Davis has been involved in a long-running dispute.
The investigation is continuing and authorities are awaiting the result of an autopsy, The Sevier Co. Sheriff's Dept. is being assisted by TBI.
