Police identify suspect in shoplifting, hit and run

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities are searching for one man in connection with an alleged shoplifting that led to a hit and run in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Monday.

Police said they are looking for 25 year-old Joseph George Faddoul. An arrest warrant has been issued and officials say he will be charged with Aggravated Assault, Theft, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

His 2000 Lexus RX-300 was found at a business on Oak Ridge Highway. It's been impounded for processing.

Police said he struck a 58 year-old while trying to flee the Wal-Mart on Clinton Highway shortly after 5:30 Monday evening.

The victim reportedly suffered a significant fracture and a deep laceration to his elbow. He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment.

Police said the driver was was trying to get away after stealing printer ink cartridges from the store
