Police identify victim in Cocke Co. house fire, investigating as homicide

BYBEE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities now know the name of the man they found inside a Cocke Co. home in early November.

With the help of the Regional Forensic Center, the Cocke Co. Sheriff's Office identified the body as Richard D. Williams and said they are investigating his death as a homicide.

Williams' body was discovered when officials responded to a house fire at the Bybee home, 1120 Palmer Hollow Rd., on November 4th.

Cocke Co. Sheriff Armando Fontes said his office is investigating Williams' death in conjunction with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the State Bomb & Arson.
