Missing 12 year-old girl has been found safe

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Knoxville P.D. says the missing 12 year-old female was located by investigators and she is safe.

KPD was looking for 12 year old Kayla Stewart. Her mother called police just before 3pm Thursday afternoon to report her missing.

Officers went to the mother's home on Madonna Circle.

The mother told them her daughter was last seen at the north Knoxville middle school she attends about 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

The mother told officers that after her daughter was disciplined at school she did not return home.

Now Kayla is home safe.
