BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An armed robber is on the loose, leading to a hunt by three different police departments in Blount County.
The man is accused of hitting up the Murphy USA gas station and market in Maryville around 11:30 Monday night. After leaving with some cash, he stole a car at gunpoint.
A short time later, a sheriff's deputy started following the vehicle. The suspected robber then wrecked it near the KMart in Maryville. That's when the suspect got away on foot.
Police are describing him as a white man wearing a charcoal colored shirt and black pants. He had a black backpack and was wearing a black ball camp.
