KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A teen hits his mother with a gun before firing and hitting his girlfriend during an altercation at an east Knoxville apartment Wednesday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.
John Darnell Green was charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and is being held on $25,000 bond. Authorities said they found the gun in a neighbor's yard.
Authorities were called to the home, 2733 Magnolia Ave., around 8:10 a.m. They said they weren't sure what caused the fight between Green, his mother Takasha Jamison, and his girlfriend Pordnijiah Flanary.
Officials did say that during the fight Green hit Jamison with the gun. He later fired and the bullet hit Flanary in the hip. Both women were taken to UT Medical Center for treatment.
Green was found standing on the back porch trying to get back into the apartment. Police arrested him without incident.
