KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The man who police believe robbed a west Knoxville Walgreens before stopping to apologize to workers there is behind bars after turning himself to Tennessee Highway Patrol Officers, a Knoxville Police spokesperson said.
Police say the man walked in the drugstore, 8915 Kingston Pike, around 8:45 Sunday morning and waited for customers to leave the pharmacy area.
Then, according to police, he jumped the pharmacy counter and demanded: "Give me your Oxycodone 15s." The suspect took off with an undetermined amount of narcotics. As he was getting away, he turned to say: "I'm sorry I have to do this" before jumping back over the counter and leaving.
