MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Prosecutors say they have offered a settlement to a man who has been granted a new trial in the 1995 fatal stabbing of a Memphis woman.

Alfred Turner was convicted in 2007 of facilitation of felony murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison in the death of 52-year-old Emily Fisher.

But this past October, the Tennessee Supreme Court overturned the conviction and granted Turner a new trial.

The Commercial Appeal reports that a judge on Thursday denied bond for Turner, now 40.

State prosecutors said Thursday that a settlement offer has been made to Turner's attorney, Blake Ballin.

Neither side would reveal the offer. But under any deal, Turner would be eligible for immediate parole on a 15-year sentence, the maximum he could now receive.
