SEYMOUR, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Seymour couple was arrested in connection with the rape of a fourteen year-old girl, according to the Sevier County Sheriff's Department.
Thirty-nine year-old Jonathan E. Myers, a registered sex offender, and Barbara K. White, 43, were arrested without incident at their home on Old Sevierville Pike Rd., authorities said.
The Sevier Co. Sheriff's Office said it's Criminal Investigation Division Child Crimes Unit launched an investigation in connection with the Tennessee Dept. of Children Services after hearing reports that Myers was having sex with a teenage girl
Myers was already wanted for violating the sex offender reporting act, officials said. He is accused of not notifying authorities when he moved from Knox Co.
He is charged with Rape, Violation of Sex Offender Reporting Act, and Residing with a Minor. White was also charged with Rape after authorities learned she knew about the incidents and failed to report them or do anything to stop the sexual assaults.
Myers' bond was set at $125,000, while White's bond was set at $55,000. Both are set to appear in Sevier County general Sessions Court on June 10.
