KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A suspect wanted in connection with a July 14 shooting on Reed Street is now behind bars.
Knoxville police, along with the U.S. Marshall's Service found Marcus Stanford, Jr. in a Valley View Apartment on Valley View Drive and arrested him.
Stanford was charged with one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Attempted First Degree Murder.
In custody, the man police said is responsible for a deadly shoot-out.
Deauntay Tate is facing first degree murder.
It happened around 7:45 on Reed Street on Sunday, in the Western Heights area.
A man told Local 8 News he heard several shots and assisted the victim.
"When I ran outside he was laying on the ground and they were having problems getting him in the car to get him to the hospital," said Caleb Roach. "So I ran out into the road and grabbed him by the ankles and helped them pick him up and put him in the car."
The investigation is ongoing.
